Core

The wing offset inward by the skin laminate: the block you machine or cut, with the tip left solid where a core stops making sense. Exported as STEP.

Settings

• Skin per side: the cured laminate thickness the core leaves room for. If the Plies schedule cures thicker than this, the panel warns and offers to match it; a core cut too thick for its skins is found with the part in the mould and the resin wet.
• Minimum core: the thinnest core worth having. Stations thinner than this are dropped from the core, and the tip past the core is solid laminate.
• Bondline: clearance held off the mitre joint so adhesive has somewhere to go.

Preflight

Reports how far the core reaches along the span, the length of the solid-laminate tip, and how far the trailing-edge mitre opens, plus any stations too thin to core.

The core stays in the finished wing. Wrapping the outer-wing STL instead adds thickness outside the designed surface. See What am I building?.
